A Silent Crisis

"A silent crisis persist in developing nations and is intensifying every year". I strongly believe that nothing is still being done about this form of ignorance. I lost my mom to breast cancer at the young age of thirteen, eversince than Breast Cancer has been a factor in my life. I can still picture the moment i overheard my grandmum relaying the awful news to my  aunties outside my mums hospital room that she was dying from breast cancer. She was suppose to receive medical treatment abroad however we were told that breast cancer had spread and nothing could be done. My mom could have survived and battled breast cancer if she was living in a developed nation like New Zealand or Australia because they provide top notch medical treatment, however due to the lack of medical facilities to cater for cancer patient in Fiji, my mother was another number to an already increasing rate of cancer death patients in developing nation.
A dramatic rise in cancer in developing nations streching already limited resources and equipments. Shortage of qualified staffs and equipments are growing constraints to treating cancer effectively. Equipments such as radiotherapy equipments are only available in some developing nation. I think that people in developing nations need to be given the same medical treatment in developed nations.

Bullying "It aint cool"

As a strong advocate for Bullying i strongly believe that bullying is not cool. Mostly common in schools where students are terrorised because of the colour of their skin, sexual orientation or their physique.
I think people need to know bullying is not a new issue, it's been going on forever and the only way to eradictate bullying is through campaigns. Bullies and victims of bullying have difficulty adjusting to their environments, both socially and psychologically. Victims of bullying have greater difficulty making friends and are lonelier. Usually those who are victims to Bully tend to have suicidal thoughts and in some cases victims take their own life because they cannot cope with the day to day brutal attacks by bullys. The best way to stop bullying is for the community, school to change their environment and work together to combat this act of hatred.

Tropical Glamour

Tropical Glamour set the stage for this years MHCC Fiji Fahion Week, i think that Fiji Fahion week has risen from the ashes of the phoenix. This years fashion week will present new talented emerging designers who will showcase their line at the grand marquee at Albert Park, Suva. More than 70 models both male and female will strut the runaway wearing some of the latest trends. This year i think the style focus is the 70's look....which will see mini tight dresses.
